Commercial Rates

Commercial Photography Prices

I have put together some guideline prices and fees for my commercial photography services to give you an indication of the commercial photography rates.

The exact figures depend on many factors, such as how many images you want and how you want to use them.

I always give clients a full breakdown of our rates and costs in a quotations and will clearly explain all the available options that might best fit your requirements.

These prices for commercial photography are valid as of February 2007.

All commercial photography prices are for guidance only.

If you would like the services of a commercial photographer, or require a written quotation, please feel free to call me to discuss your needs.

The aim is to provide a service that fits your needs. I can supply digital images for commercial organisations throughout the UK.

Commercial digital imaging services

I can provide digital photography services at an Hourly rate (minimum 1 hour)

    • 1st hour £60
    • Additional time £35 per hour or part thereof
    • Day Rate (8 hours) £250
    • Half day £110

Note: Minimum half day for photography services outside of Somerset and Gloucestershire.

I am always happy to quote an "All-inclusive price" which includes all charges to take, process and supply images for specific usage. The details on this page are for your guidance, since I don't like hidden costs myself, and don't see why you should either.

Please do feel free to ask for a no obligation quote.

Expenses

Travel is charged on a mileage basis, except in the local (Bristol) area where this is usually waived.

Overseas travel is by special arrangement.

Additional studio set-up (props etc) is charged at cost by prior arrangement.

Your photos...

I supply images in digital form on CDs. I will usually supply high resolution files in TIFF or Photoshop format at a 'print ready' resolution of 300dpi. JPEGs, other format files and other resolutions are no problem.

    • CD writing cost (per CD) £13 or £18 per DVD

I have a 'processing' charge that covers preparation of images after capture. This varies with the type of work (and quantity) undertaken, but usually between £10 and £70. As with all prices I will quote this in advance.

Additional specialist image manipulation (Photoshop) is by prior arrangement and depends on the type of work undertaken. It is charged on an hourly basis at £85 per hour or part thereof.

Prints of images are available to special order.

Photo Usage rights

This is to be stipulated at the time of placing an order.

There are several different categories of image use such as:

1.      as a one-off in a leaflet, newsletter, press release or in-house magazine; and/or

2.      kept on file to appear several times in different publications; and/or

3.      over an annual or biennial cycle, including use in brochures, websites and exhibition stands.

I will always provide you with a license to use images in an agreed manner.

The three options

    • An unmounted print which you can take to a picture framer and have a frame made to your specifications (I strongly recommend glass or clear acrylic, to protect the prints)
    • ... or have the print in a pre-prepared white matte (archival board back and mask) which would fit a 'standard' size of picture frame.
    • The third choice is to have the print fully mounted in a frame, however this is more costly to ship (especially glass...) so I usually only provide this option where customers want a certain frame type for a set of prints to go in a particular location.

UK prices are shown for unmounted landscape images below. Overseas shipping and insurance will be extra - if you are interested in ordering prints, please contact me -- as a rough guide, landscape prints are the approximate equivalent in your local currency (subject to currency conversion charges).
